Xtreme & Bull Dog Team History

   DT - Ken McDonald

The Northern Kentucky Xtreme was founded in 2007 by Jack and Shannon Patterson under the Xtreme Sports Mgmt LLC the team then split into two teams with the expansion Tri-State Sharks after the 2007 season. The team was then handed over to the Mike Kirchgessner and Kevin Hess who brought in long time semi-pro coach Tony Bray. In 2008 the Southern Ohio Patriots merged with the renamed Kentucky/Ohio Xtreme and moved from Highland Heights High School across the river to Colerain High School. In 2009 the Xtreme made the move to the United States Football Alliance and will also be playing their games at Newport High School. In 2010 the Xtreme will move to the Heartland Football League.

2010 saw the Xtreme have their most successful season with an 11-2 overall record and made the playoffs for the first time under the leadership of Mark Schibi who set every team passing record, along with Eddie Bane who also set every rushing record.

In 2011 the Kentucky/Ohio Xtreme reorganized into the Northern Kentucky Bull Dogs with the help of Northern Kentucky attorney Eric Deters. The Bull Dogs kept all of the Xtreme records and personnel. The Bull Dogs finished the season with a 7-5 overall record and made the playoffs for the second straight season. The Bulldogs also saw a lot of success off of the field as owner Mike Kirchgessner, head coach Tony Bray, wide receiver David Jones, defensive back Larry Cherry all made the Cincinnati Hall Of Fame!

Hall Of Fame team owner Mike Kirchgessner retired in 2012 and handed the team over to Cincinnati Police Captain Joe Euton. The Bulldogs look to make another run into the Heartland Football League playoffs in 2012!
